BE THE BEST, BE THE FIRST
R&D Center
The business divisions of HIGEN RNM are categorized into Servo Division, Robotics Division, and Mobility Division.
The Servo Division focuses on the research and development of high-specification servo drives
and motors with high precision, responsiveness, and output performance, as well as sensor technologies like 23-bit high-resolution absolute encoders.
The Robotics Division is responsible for developing specialized drive module solutions for collaborative robots, wearable robots, custom modules, and complete collaborative robot products. The Mobility Division handles the research and development of electric drive systems for medium to large buses, special-purpose industrial electric vehicles (such as cleaning vehicles, railway track maintenance, construction machinery, and agricultural machinery motors, inverters), micro electric vehicles, motors, and controllers for space launch vehicles.

Technology Roadmap
The technological development of HIGEN RNM is strategically planned and executed in phases, achieving successful progression.
-
2001 ~2010
- Phase 1 (2001~2010)
- We developed ATEX-compliant explosion-proof servo, premium efficiency motors, and PM synchronous motors, laying the foundation in the motor sector.
-
2011 ~2015
- Phase 2 (2011~2015)
- We developed high-performance servo drives, becoming the first in the country to achieve EtherCAT and ATEX certification for low voltage motors, and establishing a technological lead and market foundation.
-
2016 ~2020
- Phase 3 (2016~2020)
- We developed low voltage joint drive modules to meet the diverse and advanced demands of the robotics market, prepared for mass production of industrial automation servo motors and drives, and created wearable robot joint modules.
-
2021 ~2025
- Phase 4 (2021~2025)
- Selected as a leading small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in parts and materials, we are preparing for a new leap by securing core strategic technologies in robot intelligent drive modules and EV motor fields.
Core Future Vision
HIGEN RNM has chosen permanent magnet drive modules for robots and mobility as its core future technology and is focusing efforts on this area.
By applying next-generation power semiconductors, the company is developing compact-sized drive modules with high power efficiency and high-speed switching capabilities, contributing to the domestication of drive modules. HIGEN RNM aims to transform into a partner in the robotics and mobility ecosystem, a provider of robot and mobility drive module solutions and continues efforts to achieve this transformation.
