Paradigm Shift in Robotics

*Drive Module: A servo motor, drive controller, sensor (encoder), and traditional servo parts assembled (modularized) with supplemental functions like gearboxes, brakes, and custom frames to perform integrated functions

Leaping forward as a robot drive module company through 60 years of history and continuous research and development

Establishment Phase1963~2015

Laid the business foundation with industrial and servo motor production

1963: Commenced motor production as Geumsung Co., Ltd.

1993: Began servo motor production

1995: Changed the company name to LG Electronics

2007: Renamed to HIGEN Motor Co., Ltd.

2009: Registered as a qualified high-voltage electric motor supplier for KEPCO

2015: Began mass production of premium efficiency (IE3) motors (from 37kW to under 200kW)

Growth Phase 2016~20212016~2021

Entered the robotics business and developed servo motors using motor technology expertise

2016: Developed the first domestic 3kW class pressurized explosion-proof servo motor

2017: Developed 3kHz class servo motors and network drives for manufacturing robots

2018: Developed the All-in-One hollow shaft actuator series for cobots

2019: Developed smart factory robot system control software supporting AI and IoT

2020

Registered as a collaborative robot system partner with L Company

Demonstrated performance and reliability improvement of drive components for manufacturing robots

Secured open protocol basis and developed ultra-compact, lightweight servo motors

Leap Phase2022~

Advanced as the sole smart drive module solution company in Korea through contracts with multiple large corporations

2022

Completed development and delivery of three types of motors for H Company's 3rd generation collaborative robots

Developed coaxial drive modules for collaborative robots applying Sensor SoC technology

2023

Signed sales contract for L Company's collaborative robots with general customers and exclusive dealers

Received initial order for mass production of 24 units of H Company's 3rd generation collaborative robots

Provided annual quantity-based supply price quotes and developed sample motors for D Company's collaborative robots

Changed the company name to HIGEN RNM Co., Ltd.
