Challenging the Future, HIGEN RNM

Since its inception as LG Electronics' motor business unit in 1963, HIGEN RNM has consistently manufactured and sold motors, inheriting 60 years of technology and experience. Shortly after becoming an independent corporation in 2008, we invested in a motor parts factory in Qingdao, China and established a production system that combines the cost competitiveness of our Chinese factory with the technological competitiveness of our headquarters in Changwon, Korea, securing competitiveness in the general motor market early on.
Anticipating that the explosive, high-speed growth of the robotics and electric mobility sectors is inevitable to address the shocks to the global economy from mega-trends such as demographic changes and global warming, we have consistently invested 4.3% of our total sales and 30% of the sales in these sectors in R&D and workforce under the independent corporate system. As a result, in 2021, we were uniquely selected as a "leading company" in the servo motor module sector among the national top 100 core strategic technologies chosen by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, receiving KRW 12 billion in R&D support and accelerating our technology advancement.
Initially, the traditional general motor business was our mainstay, but 16 years later, while the general motor business continues to play a steady role as a cash cow, we are at the forefront of smart technology innovation that transforms motors from simple passive components to intelligent and active components that share critical functions in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
In the robotics sector, we supply servo motors to top domestic collaborative and manufacturing robot companies and extend our supply range to drive modules. We cooperate in various ways upon customer request, including assembling and inspecting robot mechanisms. Our application targets include collaborative robots, manufacturing robots, AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots), personal training equipment (EMS), wearable robots, and military equipment.
In stabilizing the supply chain, a point of emphasis for economic security, we continuously develop, produce, and supply various automation equipment servo motors.
In the EV mobility sector as well, we have continued to cooperate with multiple domestic and international companies, persistently developing products in the fields of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, commercial vehicles, trucks, tractors, special vehicles, yachts, semi-high-speed trains, drones, hydrogen vehicles, hydrogen-electric ships, and construction equipment traction motors. Notably, HIGEN's development of an ultra-high-speed motor module was applied to the launch vehicle of Innospace, the first private company in Korea's space sector, which successfully launched in March 2023 at the Alcântara Launch Center in Brazil, validating our technology.
With years of continuous investment and R&D efforts, HIGEN RNM is now externally recognized for its technological prowess and poised to leap forward. Building on the results of our consistent investment in the future market, we will cleverly overcome challenging economic conditions. This year, with a dream of becoming a solid small and medium-sized enterprise in the industrial motor, robot actuation module, and EV drive module markets through an economy of scope based on motor and motor control technology, every employee at "HIGEN RNM - A Company that Understands the Changes in the World and Challenges the Future through Technological Innovation" will continue to stride forward energetically.
Thank you.
